Here are some photos regarding Lucca, the wonderful and intact medieval village closed in his walls, in the hearth of Tuscany. Montecarlo, Lucca's most famous wine region, is only ten minutes away. Pisa with its Leaning Tower is only 25 minutes from the apartments, while Florence (impossible to describe in few lines...) and the Chianti region, famous for its wines all over the world, are only 45 minutes away by car.

Lucca, the walls which completely surround the town. They are a complex and highly articulated defensive structure that has vast rooms under the raised walk of the guards.

San Michele, built in 1070 on a previous building and completed in the Pisan style in the 12th century.

 

Piazza San Martino, one of the nicest squares in Lucca, with its exuberant façade and the elegant bell tower. It began to take its current forms in the 11th century and completed in the 13th century.

 

The gracious Romanesque village's church (11th century) of San Leonardo in Treponzio, where Terrarossa is situated.

 

Villa Torrigiani in Camigliano (16th C - 18th C), home of one of the most important renaissance families, the Buonvisi.

 

 

The inside of Pieve di Brancoli (12th C), beautiful Romanesque church of San Giorgio, located in the environs of Lucca.

 

A view of Garfagnana, with its beautiful landscape and its harmoniously arranged villages, the medieval parishes and hamlets, surrounded by chestnut forests.
